The recliner room
One room, several people, a lot of quiet
Community acupuncture works because people rest in the same room. You each get your own recliner and blanket, turned a little toward the windows. We keep voices low, phones silent and the lights soft. You can talk or not, and you can sleep.
In the room
Your own recliner, blanket and footrest
Tea and water by the door
Phones on silent
A bell on the side table if you need us

What to wear and bring
Dress for a nap
Loose sleeves
Sleeves that push above the elbow.
Loose trousers
Legs that roll above the knee.
A sweater
The room is warm, and a sweater over a blanket is cozy.
Your medicine list
Bring a list of what you take, and tell us if it has changed.

How we keep it quiet
Arrive a little before the end of the line of people, not at the last minute: the last person is seated an hour before closing.
Tell us if you need a chair that sits upright, a seat near the door, a different blanket or a quieter corner. We will do what we can and say plainly what we cannot.
If you need to leave early, just say so. Your acupuncturist takes the needles out whenever you ask.
Come see the room
Stop by during any room hour and look before you decide. You are welcome to just sit.
